JVC / Boom in Belgium

JVC, the Japanese manufacturer of consumer electrical goods, have recently purchased three BR3150 BestReach telescopic boom conveyors from Uvo Technologies, the Belgian agent of Best Conveyors. JVC's main European distribution hub is located in the appropriately named Belgian town of Boom.

The redeveloped site receives JVC products from factories in Japan and Asia. To cope with greater input JVC required their three boom conveyors to traverse over nine doors, a total distance of forty five metres, which is achieved on traversing rails. It takes only minutes to move any one of the conveyors from door to door.

JVC decided to purchase the BestReach conveyors to reduce unloading times and make incoming goods easier to control. Average unloading time per container is now sixty six minutes - a welcome improvement for a facility that receives up to 6000 containers a year!

All three BR3150 boom conveyors have hydraulic tilt mechanism and operator platforms to maximize ergonomics and reduce operator fatigue - equipment options which have contributed to a halfing of sickness absence.

Kinzo Connect With Best

In Summer 2004 Best delivered and installed a BestReach BR4120 telescopic boom conveyor at the new Kinzo distribution centre in Ede in the Netherlands. Kinzo are one of the leading suppliers of electrical hand tools in Europe. The company imports many of it's goods from the Far East. Consequently, Kinzo wanted to automate the unloading of containers and awarded the project to well-known systems integrator Van Riet.

The BR4120 has been integrated with a Van Riet conveyor system and a Rohaco palletiser. Goods arrive at the Ede distribution centre packed in individual cartons within the container and are unloaded onto the Best conveyor which in turn feeds the items into a Rohaco Palletiser. Full pallets are transported by Van Riet conveyor system and then collected and stored in racking by automatic crane.

The BestReach 4120 supplied and installed by Best is unusual in that it can cover five loading bay doors on traversing rails. To assist operator efficiency and comfort Kinzo specified hydraulic tilt and a manrider platform with the conveyor.

BestReach Conveyors now Manufactured in the UK

In January 2005 Best Conveyors moved to new and much larger manufacturing premises in Corby, Northamptonshire. The 60,000 Sq Ft site now produce BestReach Telescopic Boom Conveyors in the United Kingdom. Previously BestReach conveyors have been manufactured in the company's Australian plant in Adelaide. But as the popularity of the range has grown it has become increasingly difficult to offer UK and European customers acceptable delivery times, with the 12,000 mile transit journey adding further to lead times. Average delivery of BestReach conveyors is expected to be 6-8 weeks from receipt of order from the new Corby plant.

TNT Invest In BEST

TNT Express, the UK Express parcels handling division of the TNT Group, have ordered 77 BestReach telescopic boom conveyors from Best Conveyors

The £1.7 million deal will see BEST install the equipment at TNT Express main UK hubs, Atherstone and Kingsbury, to replace older equipment and meet anticipated growth in the business. BestReach conveyors will also be introduced into the recently acquired facility at Lount, Leicestershire which TNT intends to bring up to similar levels of performance as Atherstone and Kingsbury.

The order was won by Best Conveyors against stiff competition, despite having secured TNT's last major order for boom conveyors in 1998. BestReach once again had to exceed all of TNT's specifications - including performance, reliability, health & safety, and price. The installation programme concluded in December 2003.

BEST Quality Assurance for Customers

Best Conveyors, the world's largest manufacturer of loading / unloading conveyors, have recently been awarded the much-coveted ISO 9001 certificate for quality administration systems, standards and guidelines.

BEST have received this prestigious award shortly after securing a major order from TNT Express for 77 BestReach telescopic boom conveyors, worth £1.7 million, at the end of last year.

At their Getafe site near Madrid, Seur are using the BF200 conveyors to load parcels directly into delivery vehicles. The conveyors are connected to a sortation system installed by Vanderlande, providing fast and efficient vehicle loading.

Target Worldwide Express / Park Royal

BEST have supplied major parcel carrier Target Worldwide Express with a sortation and unloading system at their Park Royal site in London for third party client Dell Computers.

Three BestReach telescopic boom conveyors unload loose-loaded goods from incoming vehicles. Goods are then conveyed onto a decline belt conveyor via Power/Flex connected to the rear of the boom conveyors for sortation on a lineshaft carousel. Sorted goods are made up into pallets for onward despatch.

The Power/Flex conveyors quickly disconnect allowing quick access for pallet loading.

TNT Kingsbury

BEST have recently supplied 52 BR3120 and 12 BR3150 telescopic boom conveyors to TNT's new parcel and documentation centre at Kingsbury Link, Warwickshire, England.

This £22 million state-of-the-art hub runs in tandem with TNT's existing sortation centre at nearby Atherstone to support the company's 50 main UK depots.
